At the 186th Dies academicus, the foundation day ceremony of the University of Bern, eight people were awarded an honorary doctorate and one person was made an honorary member of the senate. 
The University made Dr. phil. Christophe Walter von Werdt, Bern, an honorary member of the senate.
The Faculty of Theology awarded the title of doctor theologiae honoris causa to Dr. theol. Doris Strahm, Basel.
